The Journey Begins! Yvie Jet Sets & Hits the Pool In Miami

yvie-plane-miami

Even though heavy silk brocade isn’t exactly the most Miami-friendly fabric, this city is her kind of town. Yvie loves some good flash, especially the kind we’re hoping to spot in South Beach. Unfortunately, high winds and a longer-than-expected plane ride prevented us from hitting the city streets early enough to search for some stylish fellow PARISIENNE locals, so instead, she decided to kick back at the pool for a little Pre-Raleigh disco nap. Check back later to see where Yvie shows up next…

Where’s Yvie? On the Fashionable Shoulders of R29’s Own Connie Wang

We knew one of our favorite home-turf gals, Refinery29’s blog editor Connie Wang, had to experience a little photo session wearing Yvie…and really, no one we know can rock some patterned socks or a little fringe better. Just check out her brocade-inspired stats!

Hometown: Eden Prairie, MN
DOB: 1987–on the anniversary of the first person to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel.
Most Distinguishing Feature: An elastic face. Great for entertaining babies, bad for hiding my emotions.
Likes: The Internet, black shoes, cutting my own bangs, sedentary activities, brisk weather, really unhealthy snacks.
Dislikes: Jazz, abbreviations, being called “cute.”
Favorite Film: I’m a sap for Hugh Grant.
Where you’re most likely to find her: Making a nest of comforters in my big bed or at brunch.
Theme Song: I’d like to think it’s “Big Pimpin’” by Jay Z, but I think it might veer more toward “You Make My Dreams True” by Hall and Oates.
Dream Affair: The married hunk of a dude I see on the 6 train every morning–but Anthony Bourdain would do in a pinch.
