A Trip to the TriBeCa Farmer’s Market

I was inspired to pick up a copy of Julia Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking today because of one specific recipe that calls for fresh, market veggies. I’m nowhere near a master in the kitchen but I love the challenge of a really great cook book. This one is especially enticing with all of the soufflés, sautés, and flambés.  Not to mention there is nothing I look forward to more than a trip to my local green market in TriBeCa. Pre-Take-Off, A Sweet Nook At Marlow & Sons Is Just What the Dr. Ordered

Everyone needs a little bon voyage before a good trip, and on the evening before our journey began, we decided to head to one of our favorite Brooklyn haunts: Marlow & Sons. The evening started with a warm, cozy nook and a round of Wizards, a concoction of gin, burnt fig jam, and gingerale. Even though we can often spot lots of famous faces here (Ralph Lauren, Beyonce, Josh Hartnett), we were more interested in present company. The French white with the freshest oysters ever were pretty amazing, too!
