A Sneak-Peek At How Street Style Doyenne Garance Doré Takes Manhattan

Few people these days are as busy as illustrator and Street Style connoisseur Garance Doré. Her namesake blog is not only a touchstone for the best-dressed women in every city she frequents, but it also serves as a diary-like look at this lovely lady’s Trans-Atlantic life. And yes, it is perhaps just as Parisienne as you would imagine! Lucky for us, this French-born NYC devotee managed to squeeze in a few minutes pre-flight to Vegas to share her top European-inspired spots when she’s in town. Consider it your NYC-Parisienne cheat sheet (approved by one of the coolest French femmes ever)…

2. The Maritime Hotel: “It’s the perfect place for breakfast.”
3. Café Gitane: “Always a stop when I’m in town. Perfect for a coffee or late lunch.”
4. Freemans Restaurant: “It’s the restaurant that never sleeps. The alleyway that leads to it feels like Europe to me.”
5. Vintage shop Narnia: “I can always find something unexpected or unusual here. Very unique.”

Riding Bikes (And Looking Tres Belle) in New York City

When my husband and I were in Paris last April, we couldn’t stop admiring all the lovely ladies and gents riding around on bicycles. (Such short dresses! Such high heels!) The new-ish shared bike system, Velib’, lets Paris residents easily borrow silver bicycles for quick commutes or leisurely rides around town. (Even Entourage’s Adrian Grenier is a fan.)

New York doesn’t have a shared bike system (at least, not yet), but you can still get that Parisienne thrill of riding through twisting city streets, then warming up with an espresso. So, we parked ourselves on a pretty corner in downtown Manhattan and met some of our very own bike riders…

Spotted at Savoy in SoHo – Those Eyes! That Skin!

While on my PARISIENNE experience, I hope to uncover the best kept secrets of French women. Everything from what they put on their skin to what they put in their bodies. The only thing we know for sure is that French women are notoriously secretive when it comes to sharing their style and beauty secrets. Looking good and aging well are an essential part of daily life, but they are a part that women don’t want to share with anybody else. Wish me luck as I dig deep to find the source behind those bright eyes and perfect skin.
