About a year ago I was on a travel shoot for Bon Appetit in Paris. Our shoot days were long, but every night I would meet up with a friend, and we would spend hours sitting outside of restaurants drinking, eating and people watching. The thing that struck me the most, was that so many of the girls we saw had such perfectly messy hair and super cute cuts. When I spotted this girl in West Hollywood, she took me right back to that PARISIENNE trip. This striking couple are makers of T-Shirt label Scottish Romance.

This little street in Echo Park is like a tiny version of The Marais. It’s only a few shops, but it’s got the charm and character of any PARISIENNE street. Tucked away off of Sunset Blvd, it’s visited mostly by the locals, who you can see drinking coffee and reading screenplays any day of the week. Check out some of the shops on this street: Tavin, Lucas, and Chango.

It’s true about French women keeping their beauty secrets just that. After begging, pleading, and with some friends, bribing… I was finally able to gather enough secret products from the French beauties in my life to pack with me on my PARISIENNE journey. While there are lots of great things about the Standard Hotel (the amazing diner, the people-watching from your room onto Sunset Blvd, and the “live art” in their lobby), the swimming pool is the star of the show. There’s a constant flow of beautiful people sitting by the pool and sipping cocktails, and you almost feel as though at any moment you’ll spot a PARISIENNE starlet, like Brigitte Bardot or Catherine Deneuve. Some of the beauties we did spot by the pool: Matteo Fabra and Stephanie Ilic from Paris and Francesco Torricella from Italy…

Rumor has it that French women wear beautiful lingerie (at least in the movies)–and with their sexy accents and je-ne-sais-quoi, it’s enough to make your head spin. Well, Bittersweet Butterfly, a shop in L.A.’s Silverlake neighborhood, has such delicate underthings, we felt PARISIENNE, at least in spirit. Take a look inside…

We swooned over this gold sequined slip, as well as all the lacy chemises and silky little rompers behind it..

And the shop doubles as a florist, so we were greeted by sweet scents as soon as we walked in the door. Tres bon!

P.S. Afterward, we went to Griffith Park’s 1920’s carousel, to continue our romantic afternoon…
