I love experiencing a city through its architecture. Many of Miami Beach’s hotels were built in the roaring 1920’s, and the architects must have been inspired by the International Exposition of Modern Industrial and Decorative Arts in Paris. When the Great Depression hit, the buildings scaled back and became more streamlined and modern. Combine them with Miami’s cheery colors and palm trees, and you have one amazing-looking city.
